About Gwynedd-Mercy College

Gwynedd-Mercy College is an independent, co-educational institution with the main campus located in Gwynedd Valley, in Lower Gwynedd Township, which is a township in Montgomery County, in the US state of Pennsylvania, with over 10 400 people, living within its limits, at the time of the 2000 census.

The college was established in 1948 and was founded by the Sisters of Mercy as a junior college, being rechartered in 1963 as baccalaureate institution. It offers its students associate, bachelor's and master's degrees, including majors in more than 40 programs, through its 5 schools: Allied health, Arts & Sciences, Business and Center for Lifelong Learning, Education and Nursing.

Athletics

Gwynedd-Mercy's athletic teams are nicknamed the Griffins and they compete in NCAA Division III, with 19 men's and women's sports teams. Their distinctive colors are red and gold.
